| 1700 miles in 2 weeks - Only one major problem |
|
Spent two weeks driving around the Lakes with a day trip to Swansea in the middle(don't ask). Used low range and HDC many times and let the car do all the driving so it's the first time I've ever seen the scenery at Hardknott, Honister, Kirkstone etc etc. Alloys are literally black now from HDC created brake dust and ABS/DTC had plenty of work to do too with the mud washed onto the roads.
The car performed brilliantly until the magic fridge in the arm rest ran out of chocolate on the Honister pass, after which there was a constant irritating whining noise from the kids seats.
Anyone else had this problem? Is it easy to remedy?
Stats from the fortnight:
Mileage : 1789
MPG : 31.5
Engine Fluid losses : Zero
Washer fluid - One full fill.
Windscreen Stonechips : One, minor
Lowest Price Diesel : £1.26 (middle of nowhere in the Lakes, delivery must have been a nightmare)
Highest Price Diesel : £1.40 (10 miles from Milford Haven on the M4 I passed these jokers by)
Number of things I hit : Zero
Bad judgement calls in passing another vehicle : One (Sorry bus - my fault )
Cyclists I saw that cycled up Hardknott pass (not a foot down even once) : Two (Deep Respect!)
Ignorant Greenie with a free mandatory re-education : One
Very Happy D3 Owner : Check! Give a man a fire and he's warm for the day. But set fire to him and he's warm for the rest of his life.
