Am travelling to Airlie beach next week and will need my TDV8 serviced somewhere up there. I am on 8000k now so not sure where I will be at approx 12000k. There seem to be quite a few dealers listed on LRA website. Anybody had experience of any of them?

Have narrowed dealers down after calculating distance. They are:
Southside Land Rover and Austral Land Rover in Brisbane.
Pacific Land Rover in Maroochydore
Bruce Lynton Land Rover in Southport.
Have spoken to Bruce Lynton and they seemed good.
Feedback on these dealers would be appreciated

I've had excellent service from Southside. Service consultant is Daniel Nicholson. I've never had had a good run with Austral even though Southside and Austral are both part of the AP Eagers group.
Just my experience. 06 TDV6 SE with Extras

Austral Motors in Brisbane... my experience there has been fantastic. They always look after me. Talk to Dennis.. he'll take care of you I'm sure!

I have had good service from Pacific at Maroochy and several friends have their cars serviced at Southside, I also had very good service at Cairns. The guys in Townsville didnt have the parts I wanted, so as I was going north they phoned Cairns for me and had the bits waiting there to be picked up. Lynton in Southport also has a good rep.

Hi Discojools, no matter who you choose, just make sure it’s not Austral.
As posted above, lots of good comments about Southside and even though they are owned by the same parent company, Austral would have to be the worst auto dealership I have had the misfortune of buying a vehicle from.
Had some many unresolved issues caused by Austral that in the end, after many complaints to LRA, even LRA gave up on Austral and referred me to Bruce Lyntons.
Talk about black and white, Bruce Lyntons would have to be one of if not the best dealership I have deal with.

found trinity in cairns very good and now with pacific land rover in Maroochydore and so far they are ok bit pricey on oils $128 for 5.45 litres! and they did an engine flush for another $40 which I did not ask for

As I commented earlier, I would not use Austral if it was my choice. I recently purchased a VW (through a lease company) from Austral, exactly the same poor service as their LR division. 06 TDV6 SE with Extras

bought my D3 from Austral and was the easiest car purchase transaction i have ever made. Walked in, said what I wanted, said my price, 3 days later drove home in my shiny new Disco!
Only one service so far, but it was to the book, the only addition was the fixing of the lower door trim, which i admitted I broke off, but they replaced as a warranty repair.
As a side story, when I was buying mine, a guy walked in to the show room, pointed outside to his HSE V8 Disco, and said, " I'd like to trade that for that (pointing to a white RRS is the showroom), and I'd like to do it this afternoon."
40 mins later while I was still going of the accessories catalogue he drove out in his RRS!!
Since buying my D3 I too have fallen in love with the RRS, but lack the backing of my Finance Minister to pull off such a bold "swap".
Could you imagine the conversation when you got home? I'd be sent to my room and my testicles would be in a jar in the kitchen...... MY08 TDV6 SE

Thanks for the headsup on the Bio, I have never bothered to check, just filled up.
I only use Shell, BP and if these aren’t available, Mobil, but it is obviously a bit of a deceptive way to flog the stuff by not making it a bit more obvious as to what you are filling up with.
As to going to Bruce Lyntons, I think you will find them a cut above the rest.
I was off roading and cracked the sump in my 03 RR. It was fine while the motor was running but it dumped about 3 litres of oil as soon as the motor stopped.
Took it over to Lyntons and after inspecting the sump, they could not find any impact damage, just a crack in the top edge of the sump.
Got a new sump fitted and when I got the bill, they had charged me for the new sump and a wheel alinement ( have to drop the front end to change the sump ) but they didn’t charge me any labour.
Can’t beat that sort of customer support. 2007 TDV8 RR Lux + 2005 D3 SE V6 Petrol

Hi Discojools.
I live in Northern NSW, about 450km - 500km from the nearest Dealer, and I believe the best I have dealt with is Austral Motors in Brisbane.
The worth was Mackay, But last time up there, it has change hands, so it may be OK as well.
