For spell check in Firefox 3 , go to preferences- advanced- general tab and select "check my spelling as i type". Make sure you have loaded the British English dictionary and then you have spell check on any web page.

Great Browser, great addons. Try FoxLingo addon for translating web pages, general text etc. Or Adblock to stop anoying ads or NoScript to have tighter control over java script. Plus of course AVG anti virus add on that can scan links for known dodgy sites before you click on them. There are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand binary, and those that do not

beta release happened on Tuesday. I dont trust Google "analytics" tracking you around. As is normal these days, the data gets outsourced to call centers in countries with effectively no data protection rules. Already had someone trying to hack my credit card details and as for spam, I dont need a penis enlargement or viagra thanks very much. Could do with longer legs though There are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand binary, and those that do not

FF has been good for ages; 3.0.1 - the last upgrade - seems a leap forward
I also have Safari from Apple on the PC - that can be even quicker but it doesn't have the bells and whistles I've got used to... Good for weird searches , though.

Use Firefox all the time, and it does have a spell checker in preferences which works very well!
Have downloaded Google Chrome Beta and that is incredibly fast (especially with Google apps, such as Gmail, which runs VERY quickly). However, it is a Beta and not quite ready for prime time IMO. When they get the niggles ironed out it should be a great alternative though!
Even if you choose not to download FF or Chrome, make sure you keep your Internet Explorer up to date. Version 7 out at the moment, Version 8 is in Beta and should be up for release soon!

I've been using Mozilla Thunderbird for some time. Has a lot of nice features and is stable. Filters took a bit of getting used to, but once I got them sorted they work very well, sorting out incoming mail into the correct folders (including auto-delete...). Much better than Lotus N*tes that I'm forced to use on one of my clients sites. Rob Smith
