I would suggest you get the odd service done at the stealer to keep it up to date. Expensive just for an oil change though.
Certainly at least take it back for them to fix the rotary coupler, whilst you are at it get them to check for other updates and TSBs affecting your VIN number.
I guess you went to Alexandria, I know of others who have had problems with overservicing there.
I know they are a long way from you but Alto give a free loaner for any work done with them. They talk to me and I talk to the forman and techo all the time. Good service for a dealer.
They even rang me yesterday for some help for another customer. Getting there is half the fun

Means a trip over the Bridge and that takes forever in the morning and evening when I need to drop of the vehicle.
Will use the stealer for next major service. I know the sales manager very well so will get him to oversee the service.

Thought it might be a 'bridge too far'.
I got the service managers RRS with all the goodies last time.
Don't let them sting you for new disc rotors, get Coopers to machine them.
Did you try the disable seatbelt idea?
Good luck. Getting there is half the fun

Are you talking about Purnell?
My D3 has been there a few times for various warranty work and I always get a Mazda 2 Oh well, it makes jumping back into the D3 that much more pleasurable. I guess I can't complain as its a free loaner...
Cheers

When my services are done, I get an old green Falcon - and I have to pay.
Once at Alto (with my ex D2), I was given a Jaguar with television in the dashboard and I had the car overnight.
I tried to weedle a Jag convertable that was on the floor, but they had just sold it... 2006 HSE TDV6 Bonatti Grey, ECB bull bar, tropical roof, LG Next G car kit, Tom Tom GPS, UHF, Mitchell Bros tow bar, Kimberley Kamper Limited Edition camper trailer and 23 foot Haines Signature half cabin (Towed separately!)

When I used to get my servicing done I always got a new Disco as a loaner. One day they gave me an old red square Volvo But I drove it with verve. I was amazed how other drivers got out of the way And I didn't have a hat on. Most associate that car with bad drivers. Had a lot of fun that day S White, TdV6, air suspension, 110ltr Long Range tank, Kaymar wheel carrier, aux. battery, adjustable cargo barrier, LR snorkel(waterproofed), reversing and front camera, Cooper tyres and tyre sensors, Codan NGT. G'day all.
Last weekend in the Gawler Ranges driving around Mt Ive Station. Great time, good tracks, and Lake Gairdner is worth seeing. But on the last day, the Air Bag warning lamp illuminated intermittently and eventually stayed on permanently.
The 72K service was due upon returning to Adelaide; the Adelaide Dealer, (Solitaire) said the vehicle is out of warranty, etc, and the fault is the Rotary Coupler / Clockspring thingy around the steering column, with diagnostics indicating and open circuit in the wiring there for the Drivers Air Bag. They quoted $1,000.00 to fix.
Then they said that the part will be ordered in, and they could contribute 75% of the cost.
Next working day I got the call and dropped off the car. Took 1 hour and well, no charge for the part or labour!!? The vehicle is an 05 model, and looks like it falls in the VIN range of affected vehicles which is well documented as displaying faulty rotary couplers. They retained the faulty part for Warranty claim.
So far, Solitaire seem to be listening.
On a different topic, I have just had new tyres fitted. Goodyear Wrangler M+S 265 60-R18. Tyre Dealer put 40psi in all 4 tyres, but during the abovementioned standard service at Solitaire, they reduced pressure to the placarded values. On checking this with the tyre dealer, they said that most vehicle manufacturers, Landrover included, set the tyre pressures low to give a better ride, but the pressures should be higher for better tyre performance and wear.
Any views on this tyre issue??
Cheers,
Geoff

It is a safety issue because it stops the air bag from working. So any fault that ivolves a safety issue will be done as a recall. (although LR don't call it that)
$1000 is waaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy too much to fix anyway. One hours labour plus part that at most would be $100 The 75% discount only brought it closer to what it should have been.
I would be wary of a dealer that has over quoted you, maybe get a second opinion next time.
Sounds like they have no idea of what the TSBs say.
LR require them to keep parts replaced under warranty for a certain length of time, LR may ask for them to returned sometimes not. Getting there is half the fun
