I am still having difficulty with the clutch on my D3. It has done 13000 miles and when in heavey traffice or manouvering the caravan I get a smell of burning. I have had the dealer look a number of times now only to be told that I am rding or slipping the clutch. I have contacted LR customer service only to be told that I must agree to pay for the gearbox to be removed for investigation. They have stated that if no fault can be found with the clutch or there is signs of the clutch slipping then I will have to foot the whole bill. I amm amaxed at such a responce from LR customer service. Anybody got anythoughts or ideas.

hmm...deja vu
I had exactly the same issue when towing, dealer refused to touch it despite agreeing there was an issue as it wasnt a warranty item until something went wrong. Clutch gave out after 18,000 miles, recovered by LRA and replaced under warranty...clutch had delaminated (i thnk there is a tsb for this)
If it is still in warranty I would wait...main stealer prices for removing gearbox for investigation would be savage.
After 3 years I have lost the will to argue (or talk) with LR customer service. Great car, and I will buy another...but the after sales support is just a joke.
