Found this on Autoweek USA website:
Quote:
The Land Rover LR3, which could soon be the LR4.Land Rover may juggle its naming system to make room in its range for the Freelander/LR2-based seven-seater coming in 2010. The change could be phased in as soon as next year, when the facelifted Discovery--sold as the LR3 in the United States-—is renamed the LR4.
That would make it possible to use LR3 badge on the seven-seat version of the Freelander/LR2. The new names likely would be used globally, except in Britain.[/i]

Sounds like a load of journalistic bollux to me, just how much confusion would that cause if they did change it, especially for the second hand market

My wife was asked by LR to do one of these focus groups where they wanted to know her views on a name change. So there may be something in it.

That's why they gonna skip the HSE version. Tailgate too small for the "H" extra...

Hmmm ... planning to buy a Disco in the next months... should I wait until the facelift next year? When would this possibly be - summer 09 ?
Also would love to have the 3.0 TDV6 - any idea when it will be introduced?

There is a 7 seater Freelander in the pipeline but not just yet. Saw it in one of the none LR mags.

MY10 is the latest rumour for the face lift and new interior. Also the 3.0l engine.
So late (Sept/Oct 2009) I guess.
But why wait ??? Buy it now.

Unnecessary quote removed
My heart says yes, buy it now - my brain still has to be convinced ...
Got a great offer from my local dealer - it's a S spec - only downside is that it has no air suspension... do I need it?
