Hadn't thought of that Mal, will try it tonight on the way home as it always tries taking me on a 45 minute circular route to do a 15 minute journey! Thumbs Up

It always takes you out of your way to get you on to a motorway rather than taking you on decent A roads.

BARNSTAPLE

Before spending 150UKP on DVD I would like to know how up to date 08/09 version is.
Does the 08/09 disc show the new bridge from the A39 to the A361 on the downstream side of barnstaple?
My local dealers at Barnstaple and Exeter have not had a LR in with the new disc as yet hence they do not know.

Was the road laid before Qct 2007 ?
That was the cut off for the data collection for Navteq...
If pre Oct 2007 then there's a good chance it will...If later then no

Navteq are revamping their website v.soon to include a map viewer
You will be able to see the map layout and roads on the disc prior to buying them.

Unnecessary quote removed

A large THANKS to the LARGE ONE.
I called into MATFORDS (Exeter) last Monday.
They let me look at the mapping for Barnstaple on an 08/09 disc in a rangie.
The mapping displays the new bridge and road network. Also updated Irish roads.
Purchased the disc from them. They are getting a replacement for disc in the Rangie.
Excellent service.

Best regards.

PS if Mickysoft and Apple can do updates via internet why cannot the Satnav publishers?

New generation OE sat navs will be hard drive based in the future (When i don't know Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes )

I had a meeting at LR on tuesday and Navteq were there, so this is info from the horses mouth...When they go hard drive based then download updates will be possible...but more than likely a few years off yet.

They are revamping their website with lots of things to be added...I'll post the new link to it when it's published

No ...unfortunatly ...unless you know how to modifiy kwi files Sad

One thing we have requested and Land Rover have in principle agreed too is to have the speed camera locations added to the next issue of th sat nav disc.
Navteq need LR to ask them to have the files included but for some reason no one ever bothered to ask them to do it Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes so long as they do it it time the next run will include them

Does anyone know if upgrading to this version will remove the block on entering on the move?

I tried talking to my dealer about reprogramming the system with the 260 disk and he wanted 3 hours labour to do it so I declined that offer.
