I reckon for the people who use their D3 off-road will have more to worry about with the colour coded wheel arches, bumpers and door handles.
I thought LR got it right by leaving these plastic parts raw and I know that even when raw they get scatched, gouged and stone marked (rear wheel arches) and when painted will look like cr@p afer a few off-road trips.
Enjoy the nice shiny look while it is new

I'm not sold on the coloured arches. Looks a little less off-road suitable, and looks more like a RRS so D3 buyers (not planning to go bush) should ask themselves why not just get a RRS?
Having said that i though the D3 was the ugliest car I'd seen in a long time before i fell in love with it
Congrats on the new machines guys! MY08 TDV6 SE

Turbo Diesel - good choice! Diesel prices are even half reasonable again!
Regretting getting the petrol donk now that I've had to deal with its 20 + litres per 100 km in city driving!!!
(Ok I was trying to loosen up the engine a little).
Nevertheless driving really carefully I've got 16.5 l / 100km with a mix of city and highway, but even this really isn't acceptable in this day and age.
It will be a diesel next time unless Land Rover come up with a direct injection petrol and the D3 loses a few hundred kilos of lard.

OK I've posted a couple of pics in my Gallery now.
I've discovered the slots in the new 19" wheels are a pain to rid of brake dust!
Oh well....there must be some small downsides to D3 ownership.

Nice Vegas!
I think the colour coded wheel arches are growing on me, and those alloys are very nice.
And don't worry, the MY08 Alloys are a b tch to clean as well so you aren't getting something any rawer deal there. MY08 TDV6 SE

Hey Norto,
How is your King Springs still holding up. Got the commission from my last install yet?
Consumption is much better, 'bout 30%. From around 15l/100km to around 11l/100km, not calculating the gas usage.
27l LPG is enough to run 130l Diesel.
Biggest change is the power though. On the Dyno it went up from 82kw at the wheels to 96kw at the wheels, without chipping it. I forgot what the Nm increase was.
They told me that if I installed a 3" pipe, I would gain a further 20%.
I did not see the need for this, as this vehicle runs MTR's and is part time 4x4, and axle hops and spins at pull off under duress.

I went through a local installer here in Perth, but the product is D-Gas.
www.d-gas.com.au
Aparently there are more clever electronic installations, but this one is still mechanical, so less to go wrong IMHO.
