mrandmrsh - just ordered 12m old TDV6 HSE, it arrives on Wed

Sorry but I gotta blurt this out somewhere to someone....

Started looking for a year old D3 to replace my tired Audi Allroad 2.7T. Was all set to get a nice XS when I stupidly drove an HSE.

So, after looking for a week, I have just ordered a 2007/57 (2007 MY not the later 2008 MY) TDV6 HSE in silver with black leather and wood dash finish which is being replaced with piano black before it gets delivered to me along with a new tow pack being fitted.

Excited is not the word hence I am up at 6am writing this Very Happy

Anyway, standard HSE except it has a refrigerated box under armrest (presumably for keeping my phone and ipod and wallet cool!!) and the Hybrid TV option.

HOWEVER, forgot to ask dealer about service. It has 9110 miles so I thought I was ok, first service not due for another 6k miles BUT it was regd 10/10/07 so is 12m old just 9d after I pick it up. Am I being unreasonable in thinking it should come with the first service done? Or do I need to suggest if not done I will be exercising my 30d/1 month exchange option for one with 10,100 miles?? Can't believe I didn't spot that while I was there (what a tool). Anyway, worst case is £300 worse off, given I blew my initial budget by £10k who's counting?

Stuff to do:
a) Look into DVD for the back - something along the lines of the Rosen unit
b) Proper iPod connection
c) DAB
d) Maybe a performance remap - will see how it fares when towing
e) Maybe privacy tints for rear windows
f) Maybe rear cameras (I say "cameraS" as I notice from http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic22075.html there are 2 unused inputs so I am thinking use one for rear of D3 to help with aligning towball to trailer/caravan hitch and one "hot-pluggable" fastened on back of caravan that plugs into D3 when towing)

Anyway, here's some pics. I have removed the reg number as I have seen other folks do but dunno why I should need to Question

Cheers all for a cracking forum - very useful source of information already and I haven't got my D3 yet!

Just called the dealer - got a "yeah, no worries, I'll make sure it gets sorted"

One worry less and technically speaking as I had already sort of half come to terms with the fact it might cost me £300 for being slack I am sort of £300 up to start spending on the list of "other stuff". Wonder if Mrs H will see it that way or will she be more focussed on the slight budget overspend... Laughing

Cheers to Ken as well for replies to my wish list.

Thanks also for the welcomes, I like it here already. Virtual pints all round from the new lad.

I have spotted that, just emailed the mrs 5 mins ago to check what the master diary says. I love Tong, something for everyone and would be interested to see how the D3 does compared to the 110 (which has 2" lift and 265/75/16 tyres) which has been there a few times.

My 6yo son is keen to see if the water gushes in like it did last time I took the 110 through the puddle/lake at the bottom of the site - it had rained pretty heavily and was a couple of inches or so under the height of the bonnet at standstill. Despite a very nice bow wave the 110 was still 3 or 4 inches or so deep inside as we drove through.

For some reason Mrs H has said "no lake".....

Welcome to the forum, and great choice the HSE Thumbs Up , top mod is the Piano black install as I have that and makes the cabin look classy..............

Like all the guys are saying, plenty of us have contacts/knowledge etc..........Ken knows most if not all things D3 and TFC does it all, Nick (the Large One) is a parts manager for Yeovil Landrover, all his prices are great especially for servicing.

Welcome Thumbs Up

I have just collected my disco from Farnells as well. In fact I think I sat in yours last week, to check out the wood trim with the Misses! Both agreed Piano black is the way to go

I have had a couple of problems with mine, but Farnells have been quick to respond. Just about to get a new glass top fitted!

Also still in the honeymoon period and going for regular drives with a big smile. Even found a green lane that takes me to the local! and scared myself silly. Definitely need to get on the LR experience at Skipton!

Farnells are a good dealership, always sorted any issues with mine really efficiently.

Some of the sales staff are not exactly unattractive either Whistle

Yeah, that Adam's a good looking lad.....

Seriously though, I must have missed something, because it was full of blokes when I was in yesterday but my 6yo liked the fridge full of ice-cream and fruit shoots and playing "armies" in the 80-inch S1 in the showroom.

(To be fair I took the heat out of the afternoon with a little tub of ice-cream myself as well).

Cheers
