We are off to Orlando for a couple of weeks from 1st November to do the park stuff.
As I dont think my bones (or stomach) will survive 2 weeks of rollercoasters or being soaked in freezing water every day by that big whale I thought I would see if there were any other attractions, you know the sort of thing, museums, 16th century country houses etc. Can anyone suggest something, maybe a Disco3 meetup somewhere for a beer and a burger with some of our US friends
Please foregive me though, we couldnt find a D3 to hire to we ended up with a Jeep Liberty or "similar" Duncan

Don't know whether they're open in November but if they are, go do the "Swimming with Dolphins" thing at Discovery Cove ( ) near Sea World
Its expensive, but worth it Steve N | 2006 TDV6 S Auto in Buckingham Blue | Member of the top ten club | Am I online?

Hi Dunc,
Been there a few times. can thoroughly recomend the following......
Kenedy Space Centre, about 90 minutes from Orlando. Some coach trips get better access than Joe Public!
Discovery Cove if you want the up close and personal bit will Dolphins.
Sea World back lot tour if you like animals and don't mind Penguins crapping on your feet!
Silver springs, about 2 hrs from Orlando, where they filmed Tarzan with Johnny Wiesmuller years ago.
Also Bass pro sports at the top end of Interantional Drive, a gadget freaks heaven
Have a good one. We fly to Orland on October 24th for a week on the Disney Wonder Cruise ship & then off to Texas & Vegas
See you there?
Regards

The Tarzan place sounds interesting, thanks.
And yes the Bass Shop , bought an inflatable towable for the boat last time. I'm hoping to get some of them there night vision goggles

Yep, air boats, forgot that one, very good.
I also contacted the Florida Land Rover Club and got to go to one of their events.
Very hospitable and even met up with Tammy aka Sideview.
Busch gardens have the famous LR110 ride.

Boggy Creek is the place we went to for the airboat ride. We never did the night time ride, but that sounds like it would be real fun. Silver TDV6 HSE

Just got back from a couple of weeks over there and can thoroughly recommend Boggy Creek air boat rides. If it's hot then Aquatica water park can be booked as part of the Discovery Cove dolphin ticket (part of Sea World) but is expensive. The only tour worth doing at Kennedy is the Up-Close and personal tour which was impressive with two Shuttles sitting on both pads last week! If you are feeling brave then a dawn balloon ride is spectacular but it can be whether dependant (which is a bummer when you've got the whole family up at 5 three days in a row) Every Saturday night down at Old Town (near where the 192 crosses the I4 in Kissimmee, and next the the huge Sky Swing thing) they have a classic car rally which if you're into 50's American muscle cars is usually a good watch. One of the problems I have is members of the family who think shopping is a pastime and not just something to be endured between parks (Apple shop excepted). Paul
