England 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 S Manual Tonga Green

Googsy - 2nd hand, off an RRSport, but with 275/45 tyres fitted (only weight rated at 109 though, but for this "experiement" I was happy to run with these - (109 = 1030KG as opposed to 1090Kg for 111 rated tyres), both higher than the 900Kg wheel rating (or even 940Kg for D3 19" alloys)

So, had balancing checked again this afternoon, one front wheel spot on, the other off a little, so rebalanced. Better, but still not completely vibe free. As one last shot, tempted to try some 255/50x20s (as per FFRR), after which you can open the asylum doors Thumbs Up

I think the 50 profile may do it although as you well know the tyre wall will be no bigger than a 275/45.
I run Cross Contacts UHP 275/50/20 that are rated at 109 and they are spot on, no wobble or tracking issues and theyt are returning about 29mpg.

slowly slowly catchy monkey

Guys at JE think shimmy could be from worn steering rack end ball joint. Although new rack fitted in the summer, seems rack ends aren't replaced as part of this.

Into stealers on friday, see what happens after - I can but hope (although, according to that well known Baggie, one Mr A Childs, its the hope that kills you) Thumbs Up

Did you ever had you wheel geometry checked? front wheel toe -out angles might have to be adjusted.
I am running on stormers during most of the year and have had no problems.
They are cheap ebay rims 20 x 9.5 1050kg with cheap lexani tires 275/45/20 110 and they make me Very Happy

Nick

I've seen the tyre spec label (the one thats stuck down near the bottom of the drivers door) for the Aus spec D3, and 109 is the minimum tyre spec. I asked LR customer services why the difference to the UK, and never got an answer.
