| Unmarked Plod A4103 Herefordshire |
|
Spotted on the A4103 Hereford--Worcester road yesterday on Thurs. Seen a silver unmarked D3 heading towards Hereford. Well it certainly looked like one, couple of dayglo jacket wearing bods sitting in it and on the back of the D3 it had red stripes running diagonally down it. I think this may have been spotted before. MY08 JAVA BLACK HSE, Loads of black bits added.

May be someone havin' a laugh - I frequently park mine on the grass verge outside the house with a yellow HiVis coat on the passenger side seat - makes the traffic slow to 30 - my local copper has even tried to get me doing it more often!! He thinks its a great crack!!

Yeah that could be it, mind don't think the queue of patient drivers behind them would be to impressed if it were 2 bods having a giggle. MY08 JAVA BLACK HSE, Loads of black bits added.

There are more unmarked Police D3's around than one might imagine.........
Not only do I have the permagrin privilidge of owning and driving my own D3, when I'm at work I drive Discoveries (TD5's and D3's) as 'company cars' around the UK - my favourite being an unmarked D3 which I drive all over the UK.
In my travels I often meet colleagues with a similar role who also drive the best 4x4xfar (and a right mixture of other 4x4's), but as none of us are 'traffic' cops we aren't into speed or other inconsiderate driving habits (although I have 'arranged' for dangerous or drunk drivers to be intercepted to stop them putting other road users in danger).
The Discovery has fallen out of favour with many forces who need to demonstrate they are both 'green' and cost concious. The latest addition to the fleet is a (marked) Nissan. Only driven it .....once........ and once was enough, but it does what we need it to do and it cost a lot less public money to buy. But all the time we have D3's I know what one I'll be using when I'm out and about, both on and off road.
Work and fun ....... thats what life is all about D3 XS MY08, manual, Java Black, black leather, heated front seats
Gone but not forgotten:-
1999 TD5 XS auto Oxford blue
1994 300Tdi auto Niagra grey
Life is a voyage of Discovery ...

The Met certainly have quite a few unmarked buck blue D3's (identical to my own) which I discovered by accident, but I never got to find out what they were all used for?

Yep its plod, see it quite often. Stobes tucked away in grille, looks like a frontrunner rack or similar, couple of twigs, and a private plate Powered by :

Yep there were certainly red stripes on the back end which i thought was rather strange. As all the unmarked motors i have come across are normally totally unmarked. MY08 JAVA BLACK HSE, Loads of black bits added.

Could well be. If you are ever around Herefordshire, be aware there is an unmarked silver V8 fully kitted up running about. Theres another thread here in the spotted section about it, I think someone has laready been pulled over ? Could be wrong. Powered by :
