Very true It gets a bit dull posting 'nothing went wrong again today' everyday
FWIW I'm on my second one which has only ever been back to a dealers for servicing and only had a few minor issues with my first one which were all resolved under warranty.

Welcome to the site. I have to be dull, nothing has gone wrong today, yesterday, day before that ...... . We are really pleased, it a comfortable brilliant work horse that after 3 years and 49000 miles still lugs the girls off to university with back seats down, fully loaded with all of their stuff, bike rack on back with no problems. Have to say that on really long journeys (Alps from South England) it's the only car that lets me arrive with no back ache at all. Enjoy your new car.

Bit late to worry now
I'm also on my second D3. First one was one of the very first, had a couple if issues, had a couple of service actions carried out etc just like Slimer said.
But it was the most reliable vehicle I've had.
2nd one is now at 20K miles and all is ticking along very well
If you have an issue at all, the members here will point you in the right direction

Nearly 3 years old and still it feels like new, only a couple of silly little probs that my local dealer couldn't fix, but after some good advice from here and a trip to Lake Land LR all fixed. I think that certain LR dealers are well below par, so seek out a good one near you and you'll be laughing.
A friend of mine has just had his 57 plate Mercedes ML 320 gear box go bang on him and was without it for nearly 6 weeks, so they all have their problems.
You'll love it more each day, get ready for the smug Welcome to the Global Warming Corner.

Welcome to the Permagrim club................the earlier models had a few niggles but all got Ironed out. Just like most cars really, they all tend to go wrong from time to time. The D3 has had its share of probs, but it is more technical than some.
This site/forum you will find a wealth of knowledge regarding any issues you may encounter, the key men on the site also have the finger on the pulse regarding warrenty knowledge and some even have the hardware to rectify...........
You will enjoy the D3, its a great vehicle... PERMANENTLY IN THE SITE NAUGHTY CORNER

3.75 years old, bought second hand with 45k miles on the clock. One year on, nearly 30k miles added, and after the grief of the old P38 & Classic Rangies its an absolute joy. Open the door, climb in, put key in and turn it, put the seat belt on, start, put in gear and drive off (not forgetting to put the heated driver's seat & heated windscreen on if its really cold....).
Eats miles, Preston to Glasgow round trips in a day are a doddle and a joy, the lanes of Somerset are a hoot (until the tin tents get in the way....).
Regrets - yes, why didn't I buy one earlier?
(But I still miss my old V8 engined 110 - but not the fuel bills that went with it)
Enjoy the best in the World...... Rob Smith

On my second. First (55 plate) had a problem with the compressor, which was upgraded on warranty (as were all early D3's) and a leak from the steering rack, which was again replaced on warranty. The car was usable with both faults - never, ever been left stranded
