Over the last week, I sometimes get HDC fault no programs available and green light in dash when I'm starting the car. Once the car is running everything seems fine, no lights or warnings. Suspension goes up and down ok. I have noticed it only does this when the temperature is lower than 5C and early morning. Doesnt do it during the day.
Anyone had this, or any ideas?
Id like to have some knowledge about this fault before I go back to the dealer!
cheers!

Could be a battery voltage issue, it causes a few faults to pop up. Below 5 degree's is also when the fuel burning heater kicks in and if it is like our old boat this start up process takes a lot of current.
TFC is your man for that sort of problem

Yep, just low battery voltage - if you're mainly doing lots of stop-start or short journeys (>7 miles) then it isn't a 'fault' as such, just a partially discharged battery. On the other hand, if you're doing lots of miles then the battery is on it's way out TorqTune for Freelander 2 Diesel, Discovery 3 / RR Sport TDV6 & RR Sport TDV8, Defender (TD5 & Puma) - available Now!
Vehicle modifications, preparation, training and equipment also available
Autologic Diagnostics equipped!

cheers ta for your replies. The landy is under warranty but would the battery be covered? I do a mix of short and long journeys so if its the orginal battery it could be getting clapped out. I will find out if we get a sharp frost 1 night.

Whats the procedure for removing the battery apart from the usual. If you are helpful and then stop, you get more agro than if you never helped in the first place.

I've had it the past few days too mate, defn a low voltage issue.
I only live 3/4ish miles from work (yes I know its not enough for the battery before everyone tells me!) and I find that cold mornings and the short miles make it come up.
Take it for a 15-30 minute run at the weekend, keeps it away for a bit
I've tried HDC and Special Programs after the warning and both seem to work fine.
I tend to think of it as Disco telling me he wants a longer drive! www.ourfrenchholidaycottage.co.uk 10% off for Disco3.co.uk members!

Had the battery checked by local chap and he said its got a good charger on it, but as countrywide and 10forcash said battery is on the way out. The dealer said the battery is NOT covered under warranty as the vehicle is over 3 years old......just!!!. I bought the landy in june this year. Might be asking for a bit of discount tho!!!
