| Mounting a tow hitch on the front bumper..... |
|
……can it be done ?
I’ve done a search, but the keywords I’m using are throwing up all sorts of results, so I thought I’d just ask in a post….
Has anyone mounted a ball hitch on the front bumper of their D3, or know of any such mod being done ??
What it’s required for, is shunting caravans around in a caravan park & having the ball hitch mounted on the front, gives much more manoeuvrability & control over the job. I’ve often seen a hitch on the front of older Defenders & Nissan Patrols over the years. With the tow ball being merely bolted to the front bumper, or in some cases, two tow balls, one in each corner.
But with today’s D3 having a more cosmetic front bumper & all sorts of airbag sensors, I’d imagine it might be a bit harder to do this.
So any & all advice, comments & suggestions would be welcome.
Cheers
Zeb
