For all those who have played with shortening the rods.
I get the whole, need to maintain height when going above 50 kms/hour, however, even after searching the site, I don't seem to find a lot of conclusive discussion about the extra lift achieved when at slow speed.
Surely one of the advantages would be when negotiating a particularly rocky track, would be the extra height gained through the shortened rods? I think the thought of having to "ground out" to get the extra height a bit interesting. To have the height straight up through putting the vehicle into off road mode, would be a good thing? Pressumably if one grounds out with the shorter rods, the vehicle would raise even further (I get that at these dizzying heights, one would not want to brake and lift even further)
So, is there an off road advantage with the shortened rods, or am I missing something.
Thoughts? <*(((<<

The only advantage I could see at slow speed would be you go into extended height by putting it into off- road height and super extended automatically when it gets stuck.
Overall I think you are right that at low speeds the set up is perfect as it is.
The shortened rods are only for high speed over long distances.
Remote activated would give the best of both worlds. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

When I did the LRE recently , my car was in extended mode when I got to a quite difficult rock climb. The instructor said I should go back into off road mode , as I would have better articulation for the climb .
The D3's where the only cars that managed to crawl up the hill (albeit it after a few attempts) . All the others had to come up at high speed with a lot of bouncing and wheel spinning .

I came across this last night...
Duckworth LR Parts
They have all the gear from Matzker including the extra adjustable height system...
I didn't know this was available to be honest...
They have some very interesting kit if you look around, not cheap though... Allan

I had not processed the whole wheel articulation "thing" in regards to shortened rods and extended mode. Hmm, interesting.
Those Matzker Wheel Spacers with the black rims 8) 8) Love that look. <*(((<<
