| USA version? + some errors |
|
Martin - excellent & very useful, but would I be right in thinking that this is a US version ot at least written by someone from the USA? Giveaway is tyres mis-spelt as tires!!! Also for the tyres it advises they are available AS, AT or AT-S, no such option given by UK dealers And, how accurate is it? - I see for instance that it claims the TDV6 engine (which I thought was not available in teh USA?) has 197bhp (200PS) which is at odds with the LR website & literature. Perhaps like most literature for Disco3, it is a case of reading carefully & comparing with other sources of information to try to assess accuracy? Regardless of this, many thanks to PerS, as it has some useful info!

It did seem to me to be a bit American - as you say the reference to 'tires' and it only contains information on the NAS instrument cluster. However it does have the TDV6 info (albeit slightly incorrect!), which is a bit strange.
Whatever it is though, I hope it's helpful

The sample documents section shows a few pages from a rather good workshop manual describing the removal of a front airspring (not sure if it's a RR or Disco 3). But I didn't see any true "workshop manual" available for the Disco 3 in the list--just the manual that Per kindly supplied.

I have used GTR previously for my Disco 2. It is especially useful because the Technical Service bulletins will be posted as and when they become official. These are the recommended dealer actions to take in the event of problems with the vehicle.
I think it will need a bit of time to become really useful.
I have a copy of the RAVE cd for my D2 which was even more valuable, as it had the complete workshop and repair manual (1200 pages) I await one for the D3 becoming available. It is not officially available to the public, but eventually one will leak out from a co-operative dealer and will appear on ebay or something! Now that will be worth paying for. Silver TDV6 HSE

That 'manual', although I am convinced is not the final version, is hundreds of pages big covering most aspects of the vehicle. There are errors, just as there are in the owner's manual !
The pdf is a small sample.

Thank you for clarifying that. I see now that the pdf that Per provided is the "Systems" portion of the workshop manual. I wonder how many sections there are altogether? Does a $10 fee allow for downloading the whole thing? Per, would you consider making any more of the manual available to the forum if Martin would host it?

The manual is arranged in multiple sections, in web page format. You cannot download the whole thing easily (although I am sure there must be tools to do that).

Why not just wait for a copy of the RAVE cd? I am sure they will hit the black market soon. Silver TDV6 HSE

I guess the CD would be convenient. What does RAVE stand for?

I am sure, as PerS did it - but I have been trying for hours and I cannot get the web content into html reliably (the images do not all get included). Very annoying - it is designed to be unusable it appears. Waste of my US$11...
