Santa's Challenge minimum £2 for Charity.

We have decided to ask you lot to sponsor us for doing the Santa's Muddy Challenge 2008. We are entering 2 teams.

Team 1
The Red Pearl
Driver:-Me
Co Driver:- Marie AKA Legless

Team 2
The Red Dwarf
Driver:- Carl
Co Driver:- Alex E

All donations will go to this Charity https://www.raysofsunshine.org.uk

I have approval from Martin Bow down

We are going to set up a donations page on the Justgiving web site.

If You Google 'Santa's Challenge' you will see sites and galleries from previous events.

General Info
Once you have arrived on the competitive site with your group it is up to each individual team/vehicle how they go forward, you can decide to work as a group or go on as an individual.

Whichever way you choose, when you arrive at any observed sections you will be scored as an individual. However we do have some novices and teams will have problems so please remember the team spirit side to the event and help if you can, we all have to learn somehow? Because you leave as a group does not mean you all have to work and book in as a group, we have given you a time period to check in, lateness or arriving early will mean a deduction of 100 points for every 5 minutes late. PLEASE REMEMBER TIME MANAGEMENT IS IMPORTANT, IF A ROUTE IS THERE TO FOLLOW YOU DO NOT HAVE TO FINISH IT BEFORE YOU LEAVE, IF YOU HAVE DONE ALL YOU CAN OR DO NOT WANT TO DO A CERTAIN SECTION YOU CAN BYPASS SECTIONS OR LEAVE FOR ANOTHER SITE.

On arrival on some of the designated sites you will find a start point and a route marked out with posts and coloured markers with numbers on, subsequently you will arrive at a finish post where if completed you can leave the site and move on. YOU MUST FOLLOW THE ROUTE WHERE THERE IS ONE! (SEE ABOVE) But you can bypass a difficult section (F2 competitors) or go past and come back (F1 competitors) via the marked out route to complete any section where someone is having trouble or there is likely to be a delay. EVERY SITE WILL HAVE AT LEAST ONE MARSHAL ON TO CHECK FOR FAIRPLAY AND SAFETY, POINTS WILL BE DEDUCTED FOR DANGEROUS DRIVING AND OBVIOUS CHEATING. On arrival at certain sites there will be no route to follow! Just an entrance and exit gate, you have to find the scoring stamps/markers from a roughly drawn sketch in your roadbook!

The scoring system will take different forms, on some sites you will be given a route to follow and along that route will be placed stamps/seals on 3ft chains, these you have to collect onto your scorecard, this will be attached to your vehicle dashboard by a 3ft chain! The stamps/seals will vary in points depending on difficulty and time taken to get.

On SOME site’s we may put in a special task an instructor will observe this and you will be awarded points for initiative, planning, safety and execution of the task. Another site may have a marked out trials driving course and again you will be awarded points for skill, safety and driving technique. We may even put in some orienteering skills and hide clues down green lanes?

The trophies will be awarded to the top two in each group (F1 &F2) as a well as an overall Team Spirit award.

Thumbs Up

Well worthy cause chaps. I watched a program on this very thing not too long ago and the work they do is fantastic.

Me personaly. I look at how much we spend on our son every christmas and birthday to see him smile, and giving to this charity that will put a smile of the face of a less fortunate kid is what it's about. Having kids and their parents possibly enjoying a special last moment that will last forever. Bow down

Good luck with it chaps Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Big Cry Wow Big Cry Its not even been up 24 hours yet. Must say I have a lump in the throat already. If we could get £2500 we could actually grant a wish to one of the children.

I have contacted some of the companies that we work for and I am hoping that they will also donate.

Thanks Chaps Bow down Bow down Bow down
