Someone did post here: http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.ph...ursay#9271

Never thought it was worthwhile to link to that negative PR hype/rant. (The QA they wanted answered was pretty ridiculous.)

This guy may be faily extreme, but his situatuin is not unique.

There is a chap who has had a v similar experience with my dealer and his car/s

Negative? Maybe frustrated with LRCS and has IT ability.

They are pretty poor on the whole.

I had a lemon Jeep Wrangler back in '97... But I don't have a website denouncing Jeep for making crap vehicles. Every manufacturer makes a crap vehicle here and there. Your recourse is securing an attorney... Anything else is a bit ridiculous, IMO.

FWIW, I have owned Jeeps since, and they were great.

I can see why he may be frustrated, but I think it is going a bit far to make a whole website undermining the discovery and Land Rover. Maybe he should look at Disco3.co.uk to find out some of the good things about D3!
Jeremy Clarkson has given back his £126 000 Ford GT because of a faulty after-sale alarm system; he's frustrated at Ford but hasn't made a website about them...

You'll always get the odd ranter doing this for ANY product !

I'm sure LR would have helped if he'd been reasonable.

J Clarkson doesn't need a web-site to make his feelings known.

LRCS cause a lot of frustration by their lack of comunication, especially to letters. Or by their nice tone but relative inaction/inertia.

I have yet to recieve a written reply to 2 letters asking POLITELY for explanations regarding the issues I have had with my D3, and their service.

Maybe the healthcare industry is the exception to the rule as far as customer service is concerned, but we would be strung up, by the press and the legal profession if we were as poor as LRCS seem to be.

VW, Toyota, Skoda, Subaru, & Honda could all teach LR a thing or two in the CS stakes judging by my personal experiences

Believe it or not, Subaru and Skoda are the least likely cars to break down.

I know, own a Skoda aswell as the D3 and had a Subaru in the last 5 years.

Skoda had a fault and they were infinitly better to deal with than LR.

The dealer is over the road from my LR dealer, the big difference is they are a private family concern, even the national CS seems to be run with that ethos (even though VW group importer).

Local LR is Pendragon owned and 11 staff left in last 4 months. Rolling Eyes

Is it tooo much to ask that LR's customer care and products be on a par with these 'better quality' manufacturers/importers

I had a Skoda 4x4 and it needed a minor brake check, so they simply replaced all the brakes discs and pads, no quibble. All that within 3 days of telling me. Loan car was exactly the same, so excellent.

I just read some of the comments people have written about the D3, and what they would recommend the anti-Land Rover guy should buy, and i couldn't resist leaving my opinion seeing as he's off to get an Audi Q7 Shocked

"Nonsense -

Electrical difficulties aside, there is nothing with 4 wheels that can possibly come even close to the all round excellence and ability of the Land Rover Discovery 3.
The Q7 may be a good car, it may well be a great car but it'll never be a match for a Discovery.

I'm sorry for you're loss."

I think this guy is an extreme example, don't get me wrong he has suffered badly, but to go to the lengths he has is extreme, and I am surprised he is still doing it after a full refund.

If I were Land Rovers legal dept. I would be very unhappy that he is still spouting off, and would be persuading him to shut up, after all they have refunded him in full.

I have met and spoken with many D3 owners who are not members of this site, and are all in the main extremely happy with their vehicles.
