Just one day with Disco 3 at 3100 km, after 3 weeks of usage:
Cardan axel went broken, just cut into 2 pieces, in the garden of my house.. The car didn't move at all, not forward or backwards. Engine, electricity and everything else as normally.
To fix, it stayed in the dealer\'s garage for 6 days and they even DID NOT GIVE ANY LOANER TO ME ! I just had to walk (or bicycle) for 6 days.
Quite weird after paying > 65 000 euros for a car - but true, bicycling is good for health.
Now'e I'm looking if I should buy some old very cheap (<500 eur) car for this kind of weeks when Disco stays with the dealer.
My neighbourd and the friend with model 2003 Land Cruiser just smiles to me..

Sorry to hear it
Think i'd have had a toe-to-toe 'meeting' with the dealer principal when they said no loan car .... and it'd be a one-way conversation as well!

Sorry story but what is a carden axle? do you mean drive shaft? Why no loan car? did you try shouting at them? Go and hire a car and send the bill to your dealer.

Synonyms for the broken part:
cardan
cardan axle
cardan drive
cardan shaft
In Finland, it seem to be up to the dealer if they wanna give a loaner. No support from the imprteer or the factory.
It sucks, yes. -- too many modifications made to my Disco 3 to be listed in here --

LR Assistance paid for a rental for two days and the towing. Well, insurance would have covered the towing anyway.
Next weekend forecast: ~ -15. Let's see if I must call LRA again... Disco 3 TDV6 SE Auto
Oh, and the other 4WD: FourX with a Recaro seat

Hmmm broken drive shaft, in the garden, this is a rare mechanical failure.

Small garden, below 2000 square meters (50*40 meters on size, including the house also..) i.e. not in the way as in Texas. -- too many modifications made to my Disco 3 to be listed in here --

How did it happen? was the car frozen into the ground or something?

I think that must have been manufacturing fault in the cardan.
There was nothing special what I would have done, just started the car and tried to drive to go shopping into downtown - but maybe the handbrake was on, don't recall anymore after being so shocked
So, does this mean that the next future revision of Disco 3 owners handbook will have a sentence: "Do not try to drive with handbrake on. In case you do so, drive shaft, cardan or manual gearbox will breakdown" -- too many modifications made to my Disco 3 to be listed in here --
