Skype telephone nos keep appearing again

I had this a while back but they have come back Evil or Very Mad

I keep getting the "last post" date being converted to a sype telephone number ie +444200911 being 4th jan 2009 11:nn

It doenst do it for all posts nor is it consistent with the last post user.id. Ive checked that the "associate" box is unchecked on the options,advanced screen. Ive even closed skype down and it still does it.

its driving me mad Evil or Very Mad

where I typed in the +44....... number it appears on my display as a skype chat number. its wierd as its only started happening during the last hour and i havnt changed anything.... honest Rolling Eyes Confused

Have you set Skype to auto update whenever a new version is available ?

It may now have a feature to interpret certain text as Skype numbers for easy use ??

Worth checking Skype's preferences or looking to see if it has a control panel that has settings ??

Dunno, worth a look. I have it on my Mac but its always closed as you get spammed all the time regardless of the privacy settings set.

I do have an autoupdate box checked but i also have the "notify me" box checked Confused

perhaps i'll try uninstalling skype and reinstalling. if that fails i'll just hit it with a hammer....

There must be a setting to automatically parse text in a browser or other app into a Skype number. Try using FireFox or Opera etc. Maybe there is a Skype plug in for Internet Exploder ??

There is a skype plug in. I usually justvdisable it. Ithink it's in tools options in your ie window(not skype window) uninstall and reinstall just puts it back in there... Bodsys Brake Bible

I'm a bit slow with these things but decided to install Skype for the first time yesterday........

First thing I noticed was the effect it had on the Disco3 site - just as Dunc has shown. Evil or Very Mad

Decided to simply uninstall Skype instead. Shocked

Don't have an iPhone either so I'm sure I'll not miss it in my cave with the rest of my Luddite pals. Whistle The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile
