Being as the standard tyres are 255's you can normally go up 1 size ie 265's, to go upto 285's is another 30mm in width, won't you need wider rims ?? Just looked at the nwoods pic's so I think that answers the question about rims. Our car is an 05 on air sus so there should be no trouble with rubbing ??

Just been talking to Silverline (cooper agents) LTZ's still not available in the UK something about the E speck lettering on uk/europe diferent to usa, there having a meeting with cooper in May so should know more then..

Ballcocks ...... Sinton Tyres are the sole official uk importer [who supply Silverline]
In the early days I badgered the h*ll out of Sinton to get the LTZ's in for me!
They couldn't do so because they weren't EU approved.
However since receiving approval earlier this year, they put a special order in for me in Feb.
I beleive the LTZ's were coming into the uk en mass mid April.
You'll even see that the Zeon XST [road tyre] is now also being advertised as 'for sale'
If the LTZ's didn't have approval, I wouldn't be running on them for the past 7 weeks! I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

Shame they don't come in a 19" - look great and plenty of thread with hopefully not so much compromise in MPG and on road handling/safety.
I see on the cooper site they come in 24" though

It was in LRO a month or so agothat silverline are now cooper agents, thats why I gave them a call. There also advertising coopers in LRM

The bit Bodsy was referring to is the wedge at the back of the wheelbay to stop wheel travel backwards (and TFC will tell us what its actually called ), on earlier models it was bolted on, later ones its welded, and I think sticks further out.
Both Ron and I have run 295/45x20s without rubbing issues. I think if you wanted to go to 285's still on an 18" rim, you'd need to drop to a 55 profile tyre. From my tyre chart, even a 55 is still nearly 1% bigger than the standard tyre. Usual rule of thumb is not to go more than 2.5% bigger then standard. a 285/60x18 is 6.4% bigger than standard.

285/60/18 fits ok, and the extra sidewall is very useful offroad and when aired down. The larger diameter also helps during rock crawling. Keep local regulations in mind though.

RonP...got mine coming. Docking 1st June. So a couple of weeks later I should be 8)
In that consignment they'll only have one left but will order more if required.

I have a set of BFG's 265/65/18's but I cannot get the spare into the sparewheel well. What do you guys do when you put these big tires on? I am now looking at the General Grabber AT2's 255/55/18's, any thoughts?

The BFGs have a stiffer sidewall, so even if deflated they don't fit in the spare wheel well. The Coopers can be made to fit, as can the NItto Terra Grapplers of same size. If you want to carry on using BFGs, maybe keep the spare in the roofrack, or get a rear wheel carrier.
If you go for the General grabbers, make sure you get 255/60/18, not 255/55.
