Just a straw poll to see what folks actually did when the car lost its manufacturers warranty. No doubt I've missed other options. Embarassed

Cann't reflect mine truly in the poll.
I went for a Warranty Direct warranty for the first year.
Gone for the 2yr AA warranty this time around [clicked the AA option].

But some good advice with all these aftermarket warranties ..
...keep a pot of cash aside for when they don't cover your claim.
It will happen!

I took out the LR option when I ran out of warranty. Given the choice I would have went for the tesco option, but was not aware how good it was until I had the LR one in place.

I cancelled mine when I sold the car with no issues. Anyone who has the LR option pay it up monthly if you only intend keeping the car a few months past three years. To cancel it simply call customer services and job done. Thumbs Up I would probably have stopped the LR one if I was keeping the car and swapped to Tesco. £1055 compared to £400 per year for the same if not better cover (on paper at least) ... Whistle

Mines coming up mid june, and after having Tesco with the TD5, and happy with them, thats where I am going next, especially @ 50% of the LR warrenty that offers no more in comparison

I paid for the LR warranty, but will probably go with Tesco when this runs out.

I am paying for the LR ext warranty monthly. Have needed it already, and although dealership have now got a solution authorised (I felt initially, that they were somewhat reluctant to help), part on back order Rolling Eyes , so fix has not happened yet. I think I will go for the Tesco one next time........Now, about that epb screeeeamer that reared it's ugly head, only yesterday? (and no, I'm not kidding).......... Whistle

i went for the tesco one and have had to make a few claims since having it. What i would say is as follows, they are not as quick acting as when you have the LR one. Also, the claim limit internally is lower before they send an assesor out to see the vehicle.

Finally, courtesy car is only after 24 hours of claim, then only during repair works and NOT for waiting time and limited to £40 a day including VAT so not as good as Land rover one.

However, would i go back to a LR warranty, would i boll Censored x. Would rather save the 400 quid and stick with Tesco.

I've had the LR one since last Sept, it more than paid for itself within the first fortnight with various issues, so well worth having Thumbs Up having said that, now armed with the knowledge that the Tesco one is one and the same then I'll probably go with that one this time.
 and theeeeennn......???

Just out of interest my EGR valves failed a couple of months ago and were not covered by LR extended warranty. Has anyone with the Tesco warranty had the same problem and were they covered?

Did they give a reason why they were not covered Question

They basically just said that they were not covered under the details of the warranty. Duckworths did have words with them on my behalf with no joy so ended up paying for them. Turbo failed on the test drive after the work was complete so they didn't get away scot free. I must say after hearing of so many being changed out on this site I had presumed that they were covered.
