| Thinking of getting a new D3 |

My D3 was in the dealers again today - HDC/Suspension failure caused by clogged fuel filter......
anyways in 68k kms the disco has been to the dealers for warranty work on at least 8 occasions, Clutch, EPB, Brakes, HDC, etc etc etc so I think it is a bit lemony. When I dropped it off I asked a bored looking sales guy in the dealers for the cost to upgrade to a new Bournville SE Auto. He took my details and said he'd ring me back - on Monday, as they only have XE's in stock. He did say that LR have only sold 63 cars in Ireland so far this year down from over 1000 last year and that the distributor went bust earlier in the year so a new company is importing them.
I reckon I'll get a good deal on a D3 as it is the middle of the year and the D4 is here in Jan. I'm not pushed about getting a D4 but I do not want to own my current D3 when the warranty expires. Plus I can transfer all the bits from my current car.
Just discussed it with the wife and she agrees that it makes sense to change..  ...... I'm going to wake up soon so I've decided to write this down before I do. 1993 Defender 110 300tdi - many mods

If you are going for a passenger model, the two grand a year road tax, would bother me seriously.
