Service Interval Display

Am missing something? In my manual it says that if you press the system check button when the key is in position 1 you will see the next service reminder (miles to go etc). It does not on my TDV6 5 Seat. Anyone else have this?

I don't think it was enabled in any D3's even though it's mentioned in the manual

Maybe a 2006 feature Razz

I was waiting for my wife outside of her work and thought I would have a play with it (the car before you ask Shocked Very Happy )

My service indicator thingy doesn't work either when the button is pressed.

I assume that it will only work when it is close to a service?

Any one else know???

Cheers

Marc

I got some weeks ago an answer from my LR dealer. He told me that the function, decribed in the handbook is not existing in that way.
You will be able to see how close you are to the inspection when only 5.000 km are left.

That means, today I have 6.500 km, the dealer have roughly 10.000 km time to find out a better answer.

And I think the best is to use the D3 as a computer: dont read the handbook. Because when you read it you will find some more not working funktions. B.e. the "follow me home light": when you press the LR button on the remote control the front light will switch on Very Happy . In the handbook you can read that when you press the button again within 5 sec the front lights will be switched off and the white lights on beck end will be switched on. This is not working but described in the handbook Evil or Very Mad

Whole thing seems a bit hokey to me. The service interval data shows up on mine when you turn the ignition on, but doesn't show the date unless you hold down the trip button and turn off the ignition.

Also, the manual reset function doesn't operate on mine at all - which is dull as the dealer didn't reset the thing last week, so it now tells me that I am overdue for an oil inspection.

nearly 11,000 miles and mine (TDV6 S) shows no service interval display at all.

Was told by the dealer that this function was disabled as it caused problems on Range Rover ??

At what mileage should we expect the service to be due ? Mine now has 11,000m (mainly journey's over 40 miles). Planning on an extended tour of Scotland at May half term in 4 weeks time so should I be booking her in for a service before then ..... ?

15000 is the first service in the UK, I am told that the service indicator will start to indicate as the mileage gets to 14000.

Locki, do you have a German spec D3 with a tow pack. If so please tell me if your rear intensity lights go out when you connect the trailer lights to the car Very Happy

Is this miles or kms?

In Australia we are expected to service at 12,000km or 6months which ever comes first. If the 15,000 is in miles that's like double the distance compared to Australia. Are our conditons harsher on the vehicle? I don't think so unless you are travelling in the desert or dusty conditions all the time.

Looks like Australian Dealers have twice the opportunity to make more money from us than in the UK then. You service once a year and we have to service twice a year Sad . Lucky my services are all covered for 3 years Razz
