Alternate Sat Nav

Gareth, have Just seen your Sat Nav photo, how many satellites do you fix onto in this position, is unit powered by vehicle, if so how did you get the power supply up there. I am using Navman icn 630 windscreen mounted but is out of easy reach. ( not that I operate it on the move ). Smile

I get a fix on 6 to 8 satellites. The Unit (Garmin Street Pilot) is powered from the aux power socket (left side of centre console) I run the cable inside the console, I was brave and drilled a hole in the base of the void behind the Sat nav (the rubber mat will hide the hole should I remove the unit), having first removed the radio. Using these wonderful fiberglass rods, pulled the cable up from the left side of the console (at the floor). If you check the photo you will see the power plug / speaker above the left cup holder. The Garmin Mount is great as it comes with an adhesive that is like very sticky 'blu tac'. This means you can remove the whole unit without damaging the facia.
I've posted 2 more photos to illustrate.
