When you say sadly can't do that. Do you mean you cannot use vac pumps on 2.7 D3 2007

Yes you can use vac pump.
You can’t add a dipstick to a car that left the factory without one. (Easily)

After years of disappearing from this forum (scarily about 9!!) I’ve purchased a Disco 3 as a tool but run into a problem
Tool and dipstick are so apt to me right now.
Long story short, I’ve extracted using the ext pump method - done this loads of times on older cars - but like a plumb, dipstick and utter tool - the second pipe is stuck between the oil pan and dipstick.
I’m not brave enough to attempt myself - I’m limited to filters and easy stuff (lol) - the engine is dry as oil has been removed and I haven’t refilled due to wedged pipe therefore not drivable.
Anyone know of anyone around Winchester that could (a) remove the oil dipstick reciprocal or (b) at worst drop the pan and retrieve for me?
Cars been out of action since Weds - I’ve tried all mobile mechanics locally (there are few) and they are booked up for weeks
No goats - I’ll even pay British pounds 😂
Desperate now.
Anyone?? Disco 4 SDV6 HSE

humm.
I guess you aren't one that likes jacking cars up ?
What you could do is remove the 1? bolt that holds the tube in place, at the top.
Then give it a good yank to pull it out.
I would only pull it out a few inches and then try and remove the tube from the tube from under the car. (push the stuck tube from the top so it comes out the bottom?)
If you pull the whole dip stick tube out, its a right pain re threading it through the rats nest of the engine, so be warned and avoid
You could remove the lower black sump. That is very easy, and has a reusuable gasket.
The problem is if the upper sump requires removal. That is no fun at all!
So it really depends if the thing is stuck in the tube or the sump.
Either way, you need to jack it up really on axel stands

Thx Pete.
I don’t have a jack man enough.
Axle stand I do have but as the weight of the disco is significant I’d likely have to buy more manly ones of those too
My logic was to pay £££ for someone to do this and I’ll invest in manly tools etc later Disco 4 SDV6 HSE

How close are you to Harestock Garage? They've got some good guys there - not LR specialists but good guys.

The red D2 landrover bottle jacks off ebay are a good investment. (with handles)
Less than £40?
I put 2 axel stands on one side if they are the smaller ones. But they need to be close together. Not easy on the passenger side.
