Picking it up next week... |
|
So, after a lot of searching, test drives of various transmissions and specs, I've finally taken the plunge on a Disco 3.
With a tight budget I wasn't sure if I could find a car from a LR dealer that would suit but I did! I managed to negotiate a good deal on a silver 2006 HSE 2.7 with 60k miles with the 12 month warranty and full LRSH. I looked at another two vehicles - 1 a manual in Tonga, 05, SE with 35k miles and another silver one, se with 64k and 05 plate. The car I'm going ahead with is cheaper than the Tonga SE and was in very good condition, the mileage having come from mostly motorway miles. I am a little hesitant about the higher miles but it's a 1 owner car and drove like new. Dealer seems very good too.
After driving a few now I've got the bug. Great to drive on the toad and I can't wait to try it off!
Fingers crossed it's a good solid car but at the price I think it's been a good buy.

Auto. I like the control and fuel economy of the manual but couldn't get on with the electronic handbrake.
I went for the slightly higher mileage but as I don't do much it should even out. Also I figured if the guy bought 2 more land rovers after this one it couldn't be that bad
Hopefully I've made the right decision.

I,m getting mine next week too. No doubt we have all been looking at the same vehicles
But hey thats what they are there for and it just goes to show people are still buying vehicles !
In fact i cant believe just how many people are buying used DISCO 3's nearly every one i attempted to buy were SOLD
I plumped for the Manual,, i've come across from DEFENDER 2 after owning 90's & 110's in various guises over the past 15 years means anything in terms of SE / HSE is a massive step up in comfort.

It's a funny old world, I ended up with a 56 plate XS! Not as many toys as some but in great condition and low miles in my favourite colour Bonatti Grey. Can't wait to pick it up!

Do they not all sound a bit like that?
You'll have 30 days warranty at least though from a trader?
Apart from that do you like the XS? I would have preferred leather and nav but for the money I'm saving on this one I can put in leather and have a grand or so spare Tomtom for the nav
