PDI or What?

Picked it up last week & been playing since.
I thought that the ride was a little harsh compared against my last D3 with same size wheels so checked the tyre pressures, all set around 50 psi with the highest being 52 on the front near side

(checked with 2 gauges to make sure I was not putting another error in the way & only 1 psi diff between the 2 used gauges)
I presume that tyre pressures should be checked as part of the PDI - anyone know for sure?
I now start to wonder what else they may have forgotten to check or over looked!

Yes. Tyre pressure is covered under item 21 of the PDI:

"21. Set tyre pressures to correct value, as per the tyre placard label"

Thanks for that, it could be an interesting talking point with the dealer when it goes back next week for the side rubbing strips to be fitted.

That is actually a bit scary Ian

52 PSI on the front is crazy......it's more than 50% higher than it should be.

I would be having more than a chat with the dealer as this is potentially dangerous.

Yes it gave me cause for concern, but no doubt will be denied or passed over - although I did get a nice photo of the gauge reading against the wheel

before lowering pressure however this of course proves nothing in reality other than the swmbo was with me as a witness.
My real concern is what else they have not checked, just have to see how things go but so far I'm well impressed by the D4 & cannot fault it at present.
Anyway must dash the pre heater timer is nearly up so time to go for drive

ISTR they leave the factory at 60psi or so as they may have to sit in a compound for months and months and months! Should be sorted at PDI, dealer techie's finger jumped or was in CBA mode!

Hopefully not a special PDI from Rocar Moores -

missed the thin paint Quality Control marks on my D3 and when challenged "told me to take it to a local dealer" - it was supplied by a lease company. "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

A very common fault in delivery in my experience. Having picked up a Porsche Boxster a few years back on transit pressures I now check the tyre pressures before I drive off. You look like a bit of a prat but who cares. 2014MY Discovery
