Driving home today, I was negotiating a blind narrow left hand bend on a country lane (Torkington Lane for Stockport viewers), Its blind because the hedge is 25 ft tall and really needs cutting.
I was going pretty slowly try hard not to drive into the hedge, whilst avoiding the cars coming the other way, which always have given the Disco a wide berth before.
This white Transit came round the corner straight at me, panicked when he saw me, swerved into the opposite hedge, bounced out and took my drivers mirror out, and drove off!
Now I have no mirror  the case is OK, its the glass and the plastic mounting which has gone.
I will run it into Guy Salmon tomorrow, and see if they have one in stock.
Does anyone know how much a new mirror glass and mounting is?

From memory about £30 for a new unit... but will have to check my receipts.
Was not too bad though from what I remember.

Those white van drivers are a law unto themselves - most couldn't give a monkeys about anything.

Cheers Si, thats not too bad, (much cheaper than a Mini).
Those Sprinter vans are incredible, they can motor along at a ton easily.

Maybe the clue is in the name ???
G - I guess you will find out tomorrow the cost so won't dig around my glove box tonight... sorry. But I caught my mirror on the gate post when reversing off the drive. Broke the glass and housing. Was surprised at the price to replace.
Will check as I cannot (now I'm thinking about it) remember exactly what I bought

Back in my Transit driving days Sprinters were always the ones to take on, they're definitely faster than a Transit but they don't corner anywhere near as well.
Transit vs. Sprinter on windy road - Transit wins everytime
Transit vs. Sprinter on straight road - Transit wins as long as driver remembers to slipstream Sprinter and nip past it as it slows down for a bend  The End
