Hello Plutho
Welcome to the board
EGR's, their problems and the options to deal with them are a common subject on here.
there are some great posts detailing symptoms to watch for, how to change them, how to blank them with pictorial step by step instructions, along with all the reasoning for doing so.
Might i humbly suggest you start by doing a bit of searching

well,
I did that already as a guest.
But I like to have it a bit more comprehensive.
Thanks

Hi Plutho,
Welcome.
Blanking the egrs on your model year is NOT recommended as the car will register a fault.
Sorry for the bad news,

Hi,
it registers all kind of faults anyway, so what is the consequence.
Most of them diapear on their own and have no effekt on the way the car performs.
Look, after a nice off road trip you will find all kind of faults, you delete them and next time you have others.
When not delteing them, the system goes sort of limb, but nothing changes.
May be, with the egr's it is the same.

ok,
what causes to let the engine light stay on, and makes the car to go in the limb mode?
Does anyone know.
Thanks

The air flow meter expects a certain reading when the EGR's are closed. If you have them blanked, the AFM logs a much lower reading, and brings the light on My D3 Build Thread

How does this work Mikey?
Surely if the EGRs are closed, then the amount of air coming through the collector pipes will be the same as if they are blanked off?

Well,
for my understanding, it is the oposite?
The air flow meter expects a certain reading when the EGR's are opened. If they have been blanked, the AFM logs a much lower (or higher?) reading, and brings the light on.
What is about, making a very small opening in the piece used to blank the egr's off?????
It was so easy with the old 300 tdi!!!!!
