roamingman, what you need to do is go to your profile and assign an avatar...make sure that the avatar is the size required though.

Hi Martin

Just a suggestion. You begin with:

"Browse to the photo you want to put onto the forum"

This could be interpreted in many ways and when staring at the Reply box there are no obvious answers Big Cry

Perhaps you could include (in your own words):

"Go to your gallery, find the photo you want to post and then double-click on it. It will display the BB Code (BBCode Full Size). Copy and paste the link into your post".

I have little hair left and I was only trying to find out how to do it for the Italian site.

While staring at a picture in my gallery for some kind of "way out" SWMBO eventually told me to double-click Shocked

SWRA Bow down

ayrshire,

Thanks for the PM. I often have similar problems unless I reduce the file size to a couple of hundred KB. That's well below the maximum permitted by the site but if I don't reduce the size I get endless delay and weird "out of memory" messages from the site server. It could be down to my local internet connection.

Mail the pics to me if you like and I'll try to post them for you. I'll send you a PM. Thumbs Up

definitely try and reduce (or resample) your photos to 1600x1200 before uploading - not many people have a screen bigger than this so its pointless uploading any bigger - and it saves upload and download times and space on Martin's servers

I just tried to post a pic for Ayrshiredisco.

I resized to 396 kB and when I posted it I got this message from the site Web server: "Critical Error: There was an error while processing a database query"

Anyway, I have a pic via e-mail of the rock sliders in situ. Thanks, AD. Thumbs Up

Its the actual dimension of the picture that is your problem. For instance 2256 x 1497 that's only 896kb will not normally load.
In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
