Refitting passenger side kick plate
I removed the kick plate to do my drain hose. Now having difficulty putting it back. Are there any tips when putting it back in place? It pushes up to touch the under glove box panel (with the bit of carpet on it) but there just isn’t enough room to get it over the bonnet release mechanism despite pushing up hard. The under glove box panel screws into the glove box so don’t see how this could be raised any further plus I concerned abut forcing it over the bonnet release mechanism and breaking that.
Photo of panel I can’t get back on is below. Any tips on best way to convince it to go in would be gratefully received. Thought I was on the home straight with this job, but it’s come back to bite me again. Spent 1 1/2 hours on it yesterday !
Thanks

Hi Searaider
Thanks for the quick reply.
Yes, the bonnet release handle is off, but there still doesn’t seem to be room for the kick panel to go over the remaining mechanism and underneath the panel above it. It is just so tight, that yesterday I was worried I would end up breaking the bonnet release mechanism.
It seems very difficult to get this panel in underneath the panel above and over the mechanism. That’s why I wondered whether I need to get it in using a different technique /approach angle etc etc.
Any experiences would be useful
ThanksGary

OK , managed to do it in the end by putting the kick panel in first then the under glove box panel afterwards. I did try this before and could get the screw holes lined up. This time when I took it out I watched the route and angles carefully and carefully put it back in the same way.
So it seems the bonnet release makes the order of panel refitting different to those in the You Tube video I used to take the panels out to get at the sunroof drain hose. I’m thinking the bonnet release must be on the same side of the vehicle in the US so when they work on the passenger side they don’t encounter it.
CheersGary
