Torque wrench recommendations

It has become apparent that I 'need' a torque wrench for a one time use.

However, that has never got in the way of making a purchase 'just in case I need one again sometime' Whistle ...... the motto of any self respecting sheddie/ tool gatherer

Anyone recommend a reasonably priced sturdy wrench?

Halfords!
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Depending on the torque requirement I have a few different brands. But as above I find the halfords pro one a good price for the 300nm wrench

What he said Smile

I have two from there and they have both been calibrated over Christmas and are within tolerance 12 months on.

Another vote for the Halfrauds ones, decent bit of kit.

Have the 300nm halfords one and can't complain. I have access to torque wrench calibration and both times I've checked it the calibration is cock on. Just don't leave them wound up when you're not using it

No real issue leaving the torque setting on the Halfords wrench on a setting of your choice rather than faffing about winding it back and forth each time. Just try not to leave it wound to the max and certainly never all the way down to zero.

Stumbled on this Norbar FAQ that has loads of info on torque wrenches, so may be of particular use for those with Halfords/Norbar wrenches.

Another for halfords. Came with lifetime guarantee and is good enough for high torques for discs etc.
