HIDS4U GVIF Interface Units in stock DVD GPS Reverse Camera |
|
Evening all
For those that missed the post at the weekend the GVIF interface units that allow you to watch TV, DVD or automatically display the live image from a reversing camera when you select reverse have finally arrived.
You can order online using the link below
http://www.hids4u.co.uk/gvif-interface.html
the discount code on checkout is d3gvif and you can use the discount code to buy other items if you buy at the same time. Highly recommend the 1w w5w/501 led sidelights
I will have the cameras that replace one of the original number plate lights in a week or two for a very good price also and will post link when i get them
Regards
Ian

Neil
the interface unit is an easy fit. Hardest part is getting the cables from back of the car to the box.
DIY i would opt for some scotch locks and take the + for the reverse signal from the rear light cluster and if you opt for the camera in the bumper like Wiggs then its easy to do
If you want the camera in the tailgate - its not so easy and i am hoping more help and pics will be available from forum members on this as i have not done it yet
Regards
Ian

Hoping to do some wiring in anticipation of the camera over the weekend, I'll try and take as many pics as possible and post them.
I've already made a few enquiries, if interested please see here.
Ian, any guidance as to when the cameras will be available?
Cheers

Probably a stupid question but could you connect the apple composite AV cable into the GVIF to view movies etc from an iphone?

Yes, if you have the original Apple cable and you have verified elsewhere the video out works with your iPhone - it doesn't with some, including Mrs Biz's
Just to point out it's the composite that will work, not the component

So this one:

just thinking can use TVcatchup to play freeview channels onto sat nav screen from iphone. More uses out of the box the more I can justify the purchase!!

yep but at these prices I'd be very temped to borrow one first and make sure it works with your iPhone on another source (e.g. a TV) before committing to one

Gotta be easier than plumbing a freeview box in! I'll prob get a GVIF for the reverse cam primarily and any add-ons are bonus

Just a quickie Gene, you mention "TVCatchup"- is this an app? Doesn't seem to be on the appstore
