Welcome Scout leader! What is the CR-V like? SWMBO went to look at one this morning but I said we don't need a second large car, better to go for a Civic

G'day & welcome to those I have missed. We'd like to know a little bit about You for our files,
We'd like to help You learn to help Yourself,
Look around You all You see are sympathetic eyes,
Stroll around the grounds until You feel at home.

For what it does the Honda has been superb. I've had two FL2s on test including a full day at Land Rover Experience and have to say the Honda seems just as capable. UK dealers are also very good in this part of the world (Independents as opposed to Stratstone so no competition really!)
Has been as reliable as every one always says Hondas are - certainly cheered me up coming from disastrous Disco 2 ownership. Mine is the diesel and does 45mpg on a long run and 40 overall.
Go on treat SWMBO they are not that much bigger thana Civic - same engine in fact. In fact reason I am considering Discovery is that CRV is not big enough for us!!particularly as our caravan is right on the CRVs limit.

Hi all, about to change company car and recently become daddy to twin girls I have got this idea into my sleep deprived head that i would like a disco hse. I do about 20,000miles a year and reckon if I convert a 54/55 plate v8 petrol to lpg I can run one a lot cheaper than the diesel equivalent over the next 3 years is my logic sound: ie 45 pence per litre for gas as opposed to £1.20 per litre for diesel. Or is sleep deprivation clouding my judgement [/img] dont fight it, embrace it!

Welcome to the site hillsider, congratulations on your new arrivals
If you do a search on the site you'll find plenty of discussion on LPG conversion. ISTR it costs circa the £2k mark and so may take several years to break even. If you're going to be keeping it for a long while then that shouldn't be a problem. Looks like you'd average around 25 MPG with it.
Anyway, have a dig around and see what you can find DISCO3's Student Correspondent...

Hi all, just joined after I stumbled accross this site while surfing the net looking for some performance tuning. I have owned my D3 (continental HSE version, 5 seater, Tonga green/Tundra leather/auto gearbox) for almost a year now and have about 32K KM on the counter. I must say that I am very happy with my D3, I've had no issues at all, except 2 flat tyres on the same day.
The only bits that are a bit anyoing is the 'offset' voice setting on the navi and traffic info. My noisy wipers were replaced by the dealer after I complained, have been quiet ever since (and yes, I do use them in Belgium).
Been doing some reading on te performance tuning here and I think I will take SWMBO over to the UK for a short holiday and arrange something with 10FC (will be in touch when plans are more concrete).
Cheers, Hendrik
PS. Thanks to this forum the seatbelt bing is already gone.

Hi all
Just got my first Land Rover, an 06 S in black.
Just had my first knock in it.
Someone ran into the back of me on the motorway, I was admitttedly doing between 60 and 70, trying not to run out of fuel, but I am quite visible.
If I knew how to post pictures I would let you see how a Polo fairs in a bumper test with a Disco.
Looking forward to taking the D3 off road sometime.
Cheers

Hi Pavs
Welcome to the site
To upload pictures in to a gallery, look here:

Hi all, came across this site a couple of weeks ago and it has been a great source of info while we were buying our first D3 (moved up from a TD5). We went for an 05 TDV6 HSE auto - boy what a difference from the TD5 (although that served us very well for 3 years!). Had the car just over a week and already clocked up 1k miles in it - the permagrin's here to stay! First auto I've owned and it is superb - effortless wherever you're driving.
Cheers, James.

Hi all.
well to find such a site with a wealth of information on the LR3 brings tears to my eyes (or did I stub my toe)
Hoping in the near future to purchase an LR3 and to find where all the pit falls are (not including cost of refill tank) My current 4x4 I dont believe is available in UK, but then again who wants to drive a Skoda 4x4, we chose it as a company car due to winter mountain trips in snow so need all the traction available, just itching to have a proper off road vehicle.
ps did you know Skoda translate to "shame"or "pity" in the Czech language, but the car is worth every penny the company pays for it! The answers NO, Now what's the question?
