New Member. What a great site. Was directed here by my local Dealer who said I should take alook before fitting 20" Supercharger alloys to my Disco 3. The 09 MY Disco is now in production with colour coder Bumpers, spats, rear aplique and door handle, together with new alloys and coloured door handles. Hope you all enjoy.

Hi folks, I'm all of a flutter today cos I just paid the deposit on a one owner, year and a half old, 13,500mls, TDV6 5seat base model. Been looking at the D3 for ages and finally took the plunge. Will be sorry to let my X plate TD5 ES go especially cos it had all the bells and whistles which the new one wont but money aint elastic!! Was lucky enuf to pick up a D3 that the previous owner had spec'd leather upholstery and side steps when ordering so that was a wee bonus. I know the steps aren't ideal for going off road but my missus ( and most of her family! ) are vertically challenged so I'll keep them on to start with - save me getting a hernia punting them into the car.
I'm looking forward to learning more about the car ( and its good and bad? points ) from this site and those who contribute to it.

hi and welcome Maltsenick. Yours will be one of the rare 'coil sprung' versions. A couple of members here have them and have fitted taller springs. Silver TDV6 HSE

Hi All,
I've just registered on the site after bumping into AndrewS in his muddy Disco 3 in Sheffield. I'm not a Disco owner, but I do own a RRSport (and am a member of the forum). I'm looking forward to coming along to some of the meets and getting the sport covered in mud as it's supposed to be.

@ Dane Jerus Great name Have a good search around, there's loads to find.
@ tafftoo You know owning an RRS makes you fair game for riddicule (until you get an opportunity to tow a D3 out of a mud hole.....)
Welcome both
Oh and welcoem all those above that I missed, Sorreeee! TDV6 HSE Black, Black Wheels /MTR's(in the shed!), Black RRS front/rear LR badge (tbf) Black Leather, Black Glass, Black TowB, Shiny Tasmods, Dull Mantec, White (& Orange) Reflective D3 Sticker, Black steering wheel badge, black air intake. Optima & Traxide dual battery setup.
Need black RRS wheel centre caps.

well ~ I don't know why it took me so long to become a member but I'm here now ~ I used this site for research before we decided on the LR3
so we purchased a 05 LR3 4.4 SE with 31K on the clock about a month ago ~ we've already put 4800 miles on him(as my wife says the truck is too masculine to be a she) all i can say is WOW this is an incredible vehicle ~
fortunately the fuel prices here have driven the cost of an suv down a little and made this a more affordable option ~ I know those of you elsewhere have been paying more then us for a while..... and truthfully knowing that I don't mind so much
I've had the opportunity to do a little off pavement activities and man this is awesome ~ we've done sand dunes, deep steep ditches, rocks, adn very intense inclines ~ it has done nothing but ask for more
I saw a lot of concerns about the 05 as well but i had some trouble finding a 06-07 in as good a shape as this one and that is what sold us on this one ~ no door dings, no paint issues, no wear or interior damage ~ most people mistake it for new ~ anyway.......
I am happy to be on the site and look forward to trying to contribute to helping folks and getting some guidance
I am a very avid member of a few other forums for my other hobbies and hope to be a good member here too

Welcome firchk, glad you are enjoying the D3 and you are so pleased with it....
I'm out in Houston in the first week of September on business trip to see my customer. if I get a free evening perhaps we could meet up for a beer or 2!! If you are annoying me, just remember it takes 42 muscles for me to frown and only 4 to extend my middle finger, and I'm lazy so don't be offended.

Hello everybody
I am not a complete newbie to the AWD world (as a Subaru Outback proud owner), but life made me to spend more time in the mountains, so I have just recently upgraded our family fleet with new Disco 3. I am looking forward to our common adventures (and perhaps no service issues!).

Greetings.
Fantastic forum with oodles of info.
Soon to be owner of a MY09 Discovery 3 (hopefully on the boat now from UK to Oz).
Always loved Discovery 3 design - very clever job of making such a large car look much smaller than it is.
Currently a Subaru Liberty 3.0 RB owner, but a new arrival means we need a bigger car. D3 was a revealation to drive (dealer let us test drive it for the weekend). So much better than Q7, Mazda CX9, and BMW X5 which we also tried.

Hello everyone!
Our 15 old, but very brave, Feroza has become to small with our twin boys (2 years old).
We only used it for weekend drives and hollidays. We own it since 1998 and it took us to the North Cape, Ireland (the Burren), England, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, France and all around Iceland (including the Hekla vulcano). Halfway the Lakki vulcano's we had to quit because the streams became to deep and to strong.
And if we ever go back there (rather tomorrow than next week!), that wil not happen again!!!
We compared the Landcruiser, Parjero, Patrol and H3, and the Discovery 3 is our first choice.
In about a year we hope to switch from a company car to a Disco for private rides.
So in the upcomming months I hope to learn everything there is to know about the Disco3!
Specially about the reliability (in Holland the D2 hasn't got a very good reputation) and about all sorts of stuff to modify the use and looks.
Cheers!
Jelle
