Hi, I.m very pleased to have joined the D3/D4 community, having recently brought my first Land Rover, a 2011 D4 HSE. Three weeks into ownership l'm very pleased with this low mileage (37k) and well looked after car! A proper fixed tow bar is on my shopping list and hopefully the car will be a long-term keeper...

Hi All,
new to disco3.co.uk and new to my Disco 3 - got it about 10 days ago and all going well. Just sorting out some minor niggles and looking for to happy motoring. This Disco replaces my D2 TD5 which I had for 10 years.
I'm sure I'll have several questions for all you experts.
Thanks

Hello.
Just thought I'd say hello.
Picked up my new to me D3 on Friday. It's one of the G4's from the cancelled event.
I'm not new to Land Rover's having owned them on and off for the last 33 years. The D3 will be joining my V8 D2, which is also a G4.
Regards Phil.

Hello all just under 3 months since I took the plunge and bought my 57 plate d3, with 92k on the clock I thought it wasn't too bad, supplied with a 6 month warranty I was in. So far and I kid you not, the dealer has replaced the A/C condenser, front wheel bearings, EPB release motor and gearbox relay, the icing on the cake, a complete clutch assembly including flywheel. Apart from the condenser and bearings, all replaced to cure the dreaded amber EPB release warning, never had so much trouble with a car. Well fingers crossed and 3 months to go on the warranty hopefully it will start to behave now. Apart from always wanting one I plan to use the car as a tow and launch vehicle for a 16ft fishing boat, Alaska 500 for those intrested, had it on the beach just the once so far and I was well chuffed, boat and trailer weigh about a ton and the car had no problems, coped with wet sand and deep loose dry sand admirably. So I plan to persevere and as I said fingers crossed may get a week or two without a visit to the workshop. Oh and finally have to say this forum is an absolute wealth of info, with several questions ( that I didn't know I had)answered just by browsing through the post. Pete

Hi all, I've just joined up, been meaning to for a while.
Bit about myself.
My name is Jon, I own and disco 3 obviously or I would be here..... I'm a self employed truck driver, I'm 38, have 2 daughters and can't make my mind up if I hate or love my disco!
I'm a have ago mechanic, I am partly qualified (when I was 16), but always messing.
Any tips about the discos will be greatly received and if I can help please ask. I have it nearly 2 years now, and have done most of the work my self.

Hi all,
I'm Dave and not yet a Disco owner. Looking around for one at the moment and hoping to avoid too many problems!

Having just joined, and haven't yet explored the site yet to find a wealth of owner information which I am sure to find.
I am a new Discovery 3 owner albeit of an elderly 2006 manual model.
I run a driving school and have bought the car to extend our range of instructor services to towing whilst enjoying the car primarily for family occasions as we have four daughters and are fed up of taking two cars on family occasions. Two Golden Retrievers also accompany us often too so the Discovery is such a great flexible utility vehicle whilst offering a little prestige.
Has anyone any experience or advice of re-mapping such vehicles and if so which product provides the best results?
many thanks,
Andrew

Hi , I'm thommo and having owned a disco 1 200tdi & still own a 300tdi (failed Mot on chassis) Ive decided to get a Disco 3Hse.This will be our everyday vehicle from going to work (Beef Boner) to taking the wife, 6mth old baby boy and naught dog to the beach.
I've heard a few things to the handbrake issue to something about a pulley that fails in the engine. I'm looking at 05/55 plate just for the tax bracket. Are autos nice to drive as that's what I'm thinking of ,Always owned manuals.Ant tips on what I should look for ? Cheers

Good morning to all.
I'm a long time lurker and love to check out the site regularly. Some time ago now
Used the site to contact Mr Bell and fitted a heated steering wheel, a very welcome
addition in the winter.
I've always been a landrover nut and also own a 130 defender that puts a big smile
On my face every time I get behind the wheel.
The reason for joining in now is a rather dead D4. Yes it's the crank failure so I'm hoping
To join any discussion / poll when (if) it comes to challenging landrover.
The car itself has covered 57000 miles (59 plate) and has FLSH..!
Landrover have offered to contribute to the fix but at 35% leaves an alarming £11.6k
To find. That's a tough one to swallow, especially at this mileage.
I'll go into a little more detail on the existing thread already ongoing.
Best regards..

Evening all. Another new member here. This afternoon I bought myself a 2014 model Disco4 HSE Lux and can't wait to get it next weekend. Coming from my second S-Max and been looking for a change for a while but needed something that could take 3 growing kids in comfort and my golf stuff when I'm able to get out! I tried one last year but couldn't really afford the face lift model so waited until I could. I'm glad I waited, now I just want to get it!
