Think it was is something to do with the sealant - I first noticed on my D3 not longer after getting it from new - just left it to be honest, though I know some guys got dealers to sort under warranty

This used to be a common problem on the old D1's & D2's, I'm pretty sure it was to do with the metal inner part of the seal (that makes it grip on the frame edge) going rusty after a time, usually from the ends where they've been cut to fit.
I would have thought they had solved it by now - maybe not Rolling Eyes

Can't you just pull them off and stick new ones on?

Metal inside rusts and expands causing rubber to buldge.

Known issue - replace under warranty.

Rust will start to stain paint over time if not sorted.
