I had arranged with an indy LR specialist to blank off both sides this week, but they rung to say it was a mistake - they can't do it because even though a 54 plate, any trip to dealer will update firmware causing engine fault light to stay on permanently. Actually I intend to avoid franchised dealers so wondered if TFC would do it if I got the kits? Can someone remind me of the source for the kits?

Uncle Ray - RLD - Supplied me with just the blanking plates. Mines an 06MY and have had no issues concerning EML. I opted for the blanks as a preventative measure - But after fitting, if I had to do it again I would use a full kit a la BAS. Fitting the blanks was quite fiddly (dropped a blank and a bolt into the engine bay and had to remove the guards underneath to retreive!)

the full kit still involves blanking at the bottom, so its no easier.
I though it was only euro 4 engines that the light on the dash came on, and yours isnt euro 4, even with software updates.
Somebody like Pete or Iain should be able to give a definative answer.

I beg to differ AL - After removing the pipes It is a lot easier to fit the BAS Lower Blanking Plate than tryiny to manoeuvre the little plate under the pipe then lining up and the fitting the bolt. Either that or it's my Fat Fingers

sorry, but even with the blanking plates, the easiest thing (as its only one clip at the top) is take the pipe off, fit plate, refit pipe, and I've got fat fingers. simple

I stuck the blanking plate to the pipe with copperslip and everything lined up ok  Faultmate MSV2 EXTREME
