FAMILY WAGON

Is a brand new D4 XS worth £10K more than a nearly new GS, for a general purpose family workhorse? Both 3Ls. Discuss.

I assume you mean a 3.0 engine for both 'options'

The main differences that a XS has fitted over a GS are:-

Sat Nav
Leather Seats
Cruise Control
automatic headlights
integral roof rails (allows a roof rack to be easily fitted)
front park distance (very useful if wife drives) Whistle

less important
powerfold door mirrors
illuminated mirrors on sun visors
footwell and puddle lights

plus a few other goodies . . . but wether they are worth an extra £10k is debatable and down to personal choice at the end of the day.

But . . . for around the same money, you could get a 09 reg D3 HSE which has ALL the bells and whistles on Thumbs Up
Never get mad - get even !!

06 D3 now gone to family member and still going strong at 265k

previous vehicles:
04 D2 TD5 - (clocked 189k from new)
52 X-Trail 2.2 SVE
various euro boxes !

Thanks. Yes, both are the 3l. I am set on a D4 - love the updated interior. I have a cancellable order on the XS (with a nice discount) but paying £10k less for a reasonable spec GS does have some appeal.

Thanks. That is a truly in-f**king valuable contribution for which I am truly grateful. Thanks for nothing, on what I thought was a forum i.e. a source of discussion. `bye.
