New battery in june.
Two days ago, christmas tree on the dash and suspension low, so I checked the voltage at the battery ( not connected) 14.6 volt, looked ok.
I had a problem a few months ago with my motorbike ( 1800 cc ) with a flat battery, the battery was only 6 months old voltage 12,6 , charging with a Optimate ( small charger ), would give 13.6 volt, and the bike would start for a few days, a month without using the bike and flat battery
So I tested for a electric leak, result 0.
Decided to charge the battery with a proper car charger ( big one ), one hour and full 13.6 volt.
Sinds then, no more problem, looks like charging gave the voltage, but not a full capacity
With the Disco. I started to think that it could be the same.
I put the big charger on, and 3 hours later it was full, voltage the same.
Got in the car, turned the key on, christmas tree stil there, so I turned on and of about 6 times,
and finali , the christmas tree is gone, started the engine and the suspension came back to normal
Now, for me the voltage is not a good indication on the capacity of the battery, I am no electrician,
so if there is someone on this forum who could explain, how to know that your battery is in a good condition, apart from the voltage.
When you get the christmas tree on the dash, first put the battery on charge , with a BIG charger.
