Just Did My First Rescue

Some builders working on our house managed to get their Renault van banked when reversing down a hill near our house to let another van pass. They were completely stuck. I was working from home and was asked to go join the others trying to push them out. Push I said? I've got a Disco.

Reversed mine down the hill, attached the tow rope that was in a pack that I had in the boot, linked to his and slowly set of up the hill. Without one bit of wheel spin or a bother I towed him out and up the hill to a lay by. It was awesome. I did leave him with some words of wisdom. Next time buy British not French Censored . Laughing

I suppose it does give you a sort of warm and fuzzy feeling when you rescue someone like that... Laughing

My "first time" was a coupel of winters ago when the roads were sheet ice - a visitor to a neighbour couldn't get the car off of the driveway and out of the wall he ended up sliding into...so towed him out.

Good knowing you can do it Thumbs Up Laughing

(sad isn't it... Embarassed Laughing )
The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

Club "yes, I too have had the EGR's replaced..."
Club "yes, I too have had the compressor replaced..."
Club "yes, I too once had the car at the dealer for a couple of weeks nearly 4 weeks over 4 weeks...5 weeks"
Club "yes, I too have had EPB failure..."
Club "yes, I too get mysterious bings and bongs..."
