Command shift or automatic? |
|
What's going to give me better MPG? driving using command shift 'like a manual' or normal automatic?
Same question - but this time how about towing a 1400kg caravan? Isn't command shift or sports mode going to be better than automatic?

MPG whats that
Not towing, use auto, thats what they are for or use the nudger if you want it to perform.
Towing, use auto then when you get on the motorway use the nudger to hold it in 6th notch.
, just noticed, not many motorways around your way

Frapp,
no motorways, yeah I know, that's why I'm asking daft questions now for when we are on holiday in the UK. Cant test it out at present... 35mph (if you're lucky) and 500 gear changes in the space of a mile...

Is 1 or 2 MPG REALLY worth the worry?
But having a BAS tune, normal driving in Auto raises the 6th gear to above 55/60mph, and before tune it was 50mph. For me using command shift I now get 4-6mpg more than plain old Auto.
Depends on how I feel on the day
