Was looking forward to doing this on my D4. Bought all the bits and extra wire only to find the D4 foglights are different and don't come apart in the same way Morris Dancers: Drinkers with A Dance Problem

Thanks Narpy - yes they're the ones I have/same seller but guessing they sent me blue by mistake, the foil packet was open so they may have been mixed up.I'll contact them to see if they'll send me another pair. Not the end of the world at a tenner ....

Just a suggestion based on bitter experience.
If you do the fog light mod, make sure to account for future bumper removal either by installing suitable connectors or a long length of cable sufficient to at least drop the bumper to the floor.
I didn't and had to cut one side whilst on the other, the bumper slipped and the cables decided themselves where to part company. All resulting in an unnecessary bit of repair work. 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

Just in the middle of fitting this excellent Mod - have the DRL controller and all the wires fitted, just have to connect it all up now!
Question Please: - where is the "...Jap connector behind the grill....." and what does it look like? I have looked but cannot see anything obvious.

DRL's in foglamps
Fitted my LED halos in my fog lamps now and they're too blue and too dim. Unfortunately, Narpy, the ones you suggested (above) are now ended. Do you (or anyone else) know of any 80mm led rings which are bright and white? And, does anyone know if this mod can be done on a Disco 4 MY11? I'd love to do it on my D4 too but I think the foglamps are different. Now gone -D3 XS 2007

'Halo' DRL foglight conversion
20" x 9.5" Stormers
Seat Surgeons bespoke leather
D4 HSE 2011 (Missus liked the D3 so we got a D4 as well)
D5 3.0 SDV6 HSE 2019 (missus LOVED the D5 so trusty D3 had to go.)
Was planning to do this on my MY11 D4 and had bought all the parts but then found the fog lights DON'T come apart like the earlier models.
Option I took was to buy (but expensive) the replacement Osram lights from Steve which work extremely well and are easy to wire in.
Other option is to buy cheap replacement lamps off the Bay which will probably come apart to allow installing the leds.
If anyone wants a set of the round 80mm LEDs and a relay set to do this mod, I've got a set going Morris Dancers: Drinkers with A Dance Problem

A quick search of E-Bay threw this lot up, just ensure you pick the correct colour.

Thanks Roy_H. I'll have a look at non OEM fog lamps for D4 - Osrams are very expensive! And thanks Narpy, I'll check those halos out. Now gone -D3 XS 2007
