Where is engine number?

Where is the engine number on the Discovery 3 2005 model - do you have a picture to show me where to locate

Remove the engine cover. You will see a silver plate on top of the NS rocker cover that has the engine number on it. Also should be on the V5.

Mine d3 has one on the chassis underneath the drivers door , noticed it when laying on the ground ....
To put my steps on Thumbs Up 2008 ,hse, it does what it says .

its on the block behind the alternator at the bottom drivers side of the engine, really hard to see and probabally covered in rust.
