D3 Underside Protection
October's LROI Mag has an item in its 'Stuff' section on a range of underside protection from Matzker through Outback Import. Looks like a three part set for sump, front axle and gearbox. It's reportedly made from 5mm thick dual aluminium pressure casting with 'double wall thickness in the front area.'
Price for the kit £1125 D3 HSE V8...

I have these skids. They work well, tested in some pretty rocky areas in my low rider coil sprung LR3.
However, they cover the catylitic (sp?) converter and make the exhaust resonate into the interior cabin quite a bit more than I expected.
I don't have any photos yet of them installed, but will soon, this weekend at the latest.

Is that all the underside which resonates or only the central or rear part of it ?
BTW still no news from that French dealer about its modifications... Sorry... Georgia On My Mind...

It's the third plate, that covers the transmission. The exhaust comes down towards the frame in that location, and the plates make nice acoustic reflectors. My truck is a petrol V6, but it sounds louder than the 300 hp petrol V8 on the inside

I doubt any insulation would last very long near the catalytic converter, i'd also be worried about the heat soak an undershield could create in that area...
