Passenger Door Lock Disco 3

My passenger door wont open with the outside or internal handle. i have ordered a new door latch but cant open the door to replace. any advise would be welcome

Hi

Also been in that situation

Have u also tried the key in the door to see if u can unlock it

If u have try pressing the lock / unlock buttons on the dashboard whilst trying the handle, 9 times out of 10 the door will then open

Can u hear the motors working in the door as u press the dashboard door switch

Had the same issue in a D4

Had to have front seat removed so local bodywork specialist could access and remove the door card (Replacement was c£760 from JLR - none available at scrap yards)

Old lock destroyed to open car.

Depending on door condition, they suggested it would have been easier and cheaper to take the angle grinder to the outside and fit a new door !

If you can get a new card on fleabay, it could be the best option. D1 3Door (White) Long gone
D1 3 Door (Red) Long gone
D2 5 Door (Charleston Green) Long gone
D4 HSE (Black)

wow! 760 quid to replace door lock. Check ebay there is a company on there that makes them for Land rover but are only a nominal price. Then fit yourself, plenty of "how-to" on here and its not hard. Worst job is unlatching the glass.

The £760 was the Door Card. Lock is extra.

Fitted Fleabay lock and worked for a month then died in superlock position hence had to get seat out and door card removed with door closed.

Best to spent c £150 and get genuine LR part. D1 3Door (White) Long gone
D1 3 Door (Red) Long gone
D2 5 Door (Charleston Green) Long gone
D4 HSE (Black)
