Small map light in the 1st row row roof console not working

Today I noticed that the small light, which I guess is always on, hasn’t ever been on in my vehicle Mr. Green hadn’t ever noticed before.

I removed the first row roof lamp assembly and noticed that it couldn’t ever have worked as the connector to it was broken and the wires dangled freely. Whistle

The lamp holder looks like this removed from the lamp assembly, note broken connector towards loom. The connector is on top, the lightbulb itself is inside pointing downwards in the picture. Looking into the receptacle it seems like half of the connector is still inside, stuck.

Lamp still connected to the assembly:

I checked lrcat but it doesn’t seem like the lamp (first picture) is sold separately. I tried feeding it 12 V and the lamp didn’t light up so I guess that explains why someone had touched it in a past life. Does anyone have an idea where to get one from? Or what the real name of it is?

Think it's an led.

So wires need to be correct way round.

Actually, another thing I noticed was that the ring around the lighter socket isn’t lit... Both sockets provide power so that’s not a problem. According to lrcat it’s supposed to be illuminated.

Is it just to pull it out to remove or do I need to first remove the center console H fascia, remove the ashtray module and then somehow pull the part? Anyone?

It’s a nitpicking day for me, it seems... Rolling with laughter

Edit: I had actually noticed this a long time ago but forgot all about fixing it for some reason.. Proof: https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/light-ash-tray-166712.html

Thumbs Up

Removing the ashtray panel is slightly more involved. It’s described in this post http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/post606264.html#606264

Thumbs Up
