Tick tick ticking like stone in wheel
So it’s been driving me mad for weeks
This blooming stone in tyre noise from rear driver side,
And a clicky click when reversing off the drive in the morning
Checked park brake cables and usual suspects
So today I jacked up rear wheel
Newish drop link was a bit loose so tweaked that up while I was in there
I was already to remove the rear disk hub etc, externally all was well.
Dust cap was missing from Hub so assumed internal may be corroded,
But upon checking with a bright pen torch, all in side looked new (which it was early this year).
I then happened to place my hand on the removed wheel, and a balance weight slid along the inner rim..
Closer inspection shows this has been doing it a while as there was trace marks all around inside of rim
3 weights clattering around rim.
This explains the sudden vibration I got the other
I have removed weights
Yes wheel feels unbalanced in seat of my bum cheeks
But noises are gone
Finally something is going right on ol Yog#2
Still working on that feckingg srs light tho.....

I had something similar to this when the hand brake cable clip / bracket failed letting the cable sheaf rub on fthe wheel rim catching the weights. My be worth checking the cable clip to see if this started it off.Disco 4

Nope
All brand new cable
And clips, i initially checked all this when the noise started,
Just thought I’d share just in case anyone else had similar issue and did the usual checks as I did
